Our Story
Welcome to the story of Aeroroot, a journey of innovation, sustainability, and a passion for agriculture.
Aeroroot is validating the efficacy of commercial aeroponics and is currently marketing Basil. Please support local and sustainable food by buying our delicious Basil. Below, you will find Aeroroot's story. Thanks for visiting our site.
Our founder, Peter Atwal, envisioned a future where agriculture is not just about growing food but about doing so sustainably and beneficially for our planet. This vision led to Aeroroot, a startup dedicated to revolutionizing agriculture by commercializing aeroponics.
Our journey began at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in collaboration with Simon Fraser University. Here, we embarked on a series of trials to validate our production, quality, and sales. These trials were designed to test various aspects of our process, from selecting crops and nutrient regimes to the number of seeds and days before harvest.
The first two trials were a resounding success, validating our production and quality. We are now on our third and final trial, focusing on marketing and selling our product.
Our Basil is grown using advanced aeroponic technology. This method uses 90% less water and 70% less fertilizer than traditional farming methods, making it a sustainable choice. This method uses minimal growing media, just enough to germinate a seed.
But our journey doesn’t stop here. We have big plans for the future. In 2025, we aim to build a sustainable farm in Tsawwassen, BC, to showcase our technology and produce sales. We plan on incorporating our aeroponics growing method with an energy-efficient Passive Solar Chinese Greenhouse.
Join us on this exciting journey towards a sustainable future. Welcome to Aeroroot.
